A WORTHY AND A HALF FROM BAYERN MUNCHEN.                                 Saviour Emmanuel.

Bayern Munchen completed an historical treble winning season, with a worthy and a half display against PSG in Lisbon last night submerging all doubts that there is any better side than this formidable  side.

Their sudden hegemony only leaves no room for improvement but for more ruthlessness in the coming years.

Although they have been all conquering, the stance and frankly ridiculous frenetic nature of their play rightly rue the results forged by them in the end.

For vintage sake, Bayern have now won 6 champions league( level with Liverpool), their first since 2012-2013 season. Only Real Madrid and AC Milan have won more.

They also became the 3rd side to reach an epic 500 goals in the champions league, only  Barcelona (517) and Real Madrid ( 567) have achieved more

FLICK’S DOMINANCE.

The focal point of Bayern’s turn around in fortunes since December has been undoubtedly German colossus Hans-Dieter Flicks, who took charge as the coach in December.

Since the start of 2020, flick has championed his team to  an incredible 26 wins in 27 competitive games

( 11 champions league win in the process)scoring as many as 85 goals in all competition. The only exception came in a disappointing goalless draw against Leipzig in early February.

His waggling brilliance, was however, pictured in the transformation of a leaky defence to a rocky deterrent back four. when you look at them, there is a sense of “we will fancy our chances” but ask PSG if they had much of that on the night.

Flick, in his brutal flurry, galvanized Bayern Munchen to achieving an uphill task  of  vehemently ousting all their lesser seen counterparts in the champions league this season. They are the only team in the history of the champions league to go flawless throughout the campaign- when viewed in isolation is totally mind blowing

LEWY’S BEST EVER SEASON

Robert lewandowski has been under been the cosh and is being criticized for not doing enough to get his team over the line in previous season, well he might have just raised the bar and carved a nitch for himself to answer his critics in the most surreal fashion. His much beautiful appreciated gem of converting little unforseen chances into moments of wonder was pivotal in his sides success this season.

He scored monumental amount of 55 goals this term dashing away from the likes of messi, cr7 and immobile

Most interesting, lewandowski has been more involved in goal scored this season in champions league(9) than the former (messi and cr7)

It is also worthy to note that, he was hungry for the champions league for as long as I could remember and as apostle SELMAN once echoed that ” The unit of destiny is time”, He toiled and toiled since he was introduced in 2014, and finally he has landed Europe’s steepest prize.

Although done in the presence of an absent watching public due to the Advent of Covid-19 pandemic, this seasons champions league will be remembered as the one that was a monopoly rather than a contest.
